We have hardwood floors that have been let go for too long that they are not worth saving (it's an 80 yrd old house). The tub toilet and cabinets sit on top of the existing hardwood floors and I am wondering if I can just install a thin subfloor over the hardwood and then tile on top of the subfloor.
